This training supports mental health professionals transitioning into clinical supervisory roles by exploring core supervision principles, essential competencies, ethical considerations, and practical strategies for effective supervision. Participants will examine approaches to individual and group supervision while developing tools to strengthen supervisory skills, support professional growth, navigate challenges, and uphold ethical and social work values in practice.

Learning Objectives

• Articulate core purposes, commonly used models, and stages of clinical supervision.
• Describe evidence-based strategies for building effective supervisory relationships, including
support, feedback delivery, goal-setting, interpersonal boundaries, and accountability
considerations.
• Identify and address common ethical, liability, and practice challenges in supervision.
• Develop skills to evaluate supervisee skills, competency, cultural humility, and self-awareness
and promote reflexive practice.
• Identify and evaluate practical frameworks for managing power dynamics, resistance, and
boundary issues.
