Dr. Priscila Llamosa is a social work professor, author, and clinical supervisor specializing in social justice–informed clinical supervision. With over a decade of experience in practice, teaching, and supervision, she is committed to helping students, clinicians, and organizations provide care that is relational, ethical, and equity-centered.
Her work is grounded in a social constructionist and relational lens, which shapes how she designs supervision, training, and consultation; always with an emphasis on collaboration, critical reflection, and cultural humility.
Dr. Llamosa holds a Doctor of Social Work (DSW) from the University of Kentucky and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from East Carolina University, where she specialized in clinical social work and trauma-informed care. She has also completed a 300-hour Subtle Yoga® teacher training and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction training at Duke University, further informing her holistic approach to clinical practice and supervision.
In addition to leading CCDS, Dr. Llamosa is a professor of social work and a clinical supervisor at Thrivemind Counseling and Wellness in Jacksonville, North Carolina, where she and her team provide low-cost and pro-bono counseling services. She is a frequent presenter at national and international conferences and offers training and consultation to agencies and organizations on social work education, clinical supervision, trauma-informed care, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
When she is not teaching or supervising, you can find her spending time with her family and dogs, tending to her many houseplants, practicing yoga, traveling, or recharging in nature.
